Christmas Time

A disclaimer from the previous posting- Jacob and Merry get along most of the time. Usually it is Jacob is the one who ends up in tears because Merry was being mean to him.

Jacob didn't want to pose by himself so Merry volunteered to sit by him.

Best Buddies

Jacob and Merry are best buddies- every morning when Merry wakes up Jacob asks her if she is his cutie pie and does she need a drink of water. Jacob still thinks Merry is his baby and tries to hold her, Merry loves the attention so it works out pretty great.

Philadelphia- Washington DC- Virginia- New York

We took a long vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday- first we visited my brother in Philadelphia. We made it through about 10 minutes of the 30 minute Independence hall tour- Jacob was very impressed with the bell with the big crack.

We found this homeless little waif in Washington square (it is where the tomb of the unkown soldier from the revolutionary war is)

I think Jacob was more impressed by the pigeons then everything. He was convinced there was supposed to be ducks in the fountain in Washington Square

We then went to Sperryville, VA to visit my other brother who runs a ranch there. It was so beautiful with all the leaves changing. Jacob and his cousin Brett are looking for eggs in the chicken coop.

Merry chased a poor chicken down and carried it around. After Brian told her she couldn't carry it by the wings she got mad at the chicken and kicked it. She made up for it by giving it some chicken feed.

This is Jacob and his pretty cousin Ava- she got her rabbit at the small animal auction for 1 dollar- I think this might qualify her family as rednecks

We visited the smithsonian museum of natural history- Thanks to jacob's speed we saw most of the museum in about 2 hrs.

Forget the washington Monument- the lights around it were way cooler

If you look close at the lincoln memorial picture Jacob is sitting by a sign that says no sitting. This was right before the security gaurd told Brian to control his kids

Thanksgiving at the kid's table- My sister in law made cute cornicopias (sp?) out of icecream cones and candy- I think this was the most popular thanksgiving dish.
This is Jacob with his 4 cousins that are all his age- he had such a fun time playing with them all

We went to NY after Thanksgiving- It was freezing cold and rainy- This is outside St. Pauls Chapel across the street from the World Trade Center site
Merry at rockerfeller center - she definately has her own sense of style
Jacob sound asleep on brian's shoulder- he really didn't think much of times square except the big movie about m&m's outside the m&m store. We did go see the statue of liberty but it was so foggy the pictures aren't very clear. Overall we had a great time but are very glad to be home.

Happy Belated Halloween

Happy Halloween @ the Stotts. It's hard to beat spandex for comic value in a Halloween costume. Shoes were just too restrictive for free-spirited Jacob. Merry was a "Printheth" and loved fluffing up her tutu.

Our generic family picture. Is that wrinkle in the backdrop driving you crazy? It is me. My sister's are way better so look at hers instead. Visit http://randidavies.blogspot.com/ under client proofs for the Stantons.

Pumpkin extraordinaire

This is the pumpkin my office decorated for the annual South Texas ortho pumpkin decorating contest. Unfortunately we didn't win.

This is the winning pumpkin- pretty cool but not as cool as a scene from charlotte's web.

Visit to Utah

Brian took Jacob and Merry to Utah to visit his parents- I caught up with them a few days later after a few full nights of sleep.
This is in Kanosh, Utah - the driver and other riders are Jacob and Merry's cousins. I think this was Jacob's favorite part of the whole trip

Merry was more excited about finding a sucker than the snow.

Jacob in the snow.

We went for a hike in Mueller Park in Bountiful Utah.

Unfortunately Jacob thought the leaves over the water in the stream was solid ground and got soaked - I think he was more upset about quiting the hike than being wet and cold.

Love Creek Orchard

We visited the Love Creek Orchard in Medina Texas today.

Jacob and Merry drove a hay tractor.

Merry held the chick and then kissed it - hopefully no diseases were transmitted

Jacob had a staring contest with a goat- the goat won- Jacob wouldn't hold the chick because he didn't like their feet.

Jacob tried to tunnel out of the hollow tree.

Pumpkin Patch

This is visit #1 to the pumpkin patch- where my battery died after 3 pictures

This is visit #2 with a fully charged battery

Brian bought me a special halloween shirt this year- It says "you drive me batty" I am not sure if there is a hidden message.

Brian even dressed for the event by wearing his orange crush hat.

At the circus

22 Sept 2007

We went to the circus today. Jacob thought the funnest thing was sliding down the wheelchair ramps on his bum. The actual circus he was not too impressed with- he kept asking if we could just go some where else. I asked him if he wanted to ride the elephants - he told me he forgot to bring his hat so he couldn't. I didn't know hats were required to ride elephants. Merry liked the blue snowcone the best of all.

Fishing for crawdads at Strawberry reservoir in Utah

Papa took us fishing for crawdad in July when we visited him in Utah

Merry ate lots of fried chicken so we would have plenty of crawdad bait

Papa, the master fisherman, showed us the proper posture for catching fish
Jacob stripped down to his underwear, he would have gone further if I had let him- apparently he thought crawdads are attracted to red.
Merry caught more rocks then crawdads for some reason.

4th of July - Utah

4th of July in beautiful "downtown" Hatton, Utah. Brian, Beth, Jacob(3), Merry(18 mos).

The Beginning

A brief update on our family-

Jacob is now 3 and spends his time trying to defeat his sponge bob video game (what a great mom I am) and sailing to far off places in his play house. His favorite song is Jingle Bells and his favorite toy is a wheel (he calls it his "roller fing") from a mcdonalds happy meal (we lost the part that makes it spin). He pronounces sharp- shark and merry- murray. He loves cheese quesadillas, puzzles, his fast shoes and apples. He hates vegatables of every kind, wearing flip-flops and the robots that squash him on the sponge bob game.

Merry is now 20 months and spends her time following Jacob around and trying to do exactly what he does. She loves to sing happy birthday- and insists on having it sung to her every night before bed. Every letter is U to her and every color is green. She still refused to say Jacob. She loves bows and rubber bands (but not when they are being put in her hair), blankies, jumping on the trampoline and her daddy. She hates sour cream.

Brian is still a loan shark at USAA who wishes he had more time for managing his fantasy football teams and fishing.

I am currently devising a plan to take over the universe-other then that my life is pretty uneventful.
