Happy B-day Jacob

Today is Jacob's birthday, be warned there is a lot of pictures

1st view

so stinkin' cute

3rd birthday

Jacob with his harem of women on his 4th birthday
Jacob is such a sweet boy, most of the time.  I asked Jacob what he wanted for his birthday and he told me he wanted to get baby Gracie a toy that she could play with when she got bigger.  Merry piped up that she would like a present too- Jacob just looked at her and said it's not your birthday.  Oh well he is sweet to half of his sisters

3 weeks old

Gracie at 3 weeks

I lost the pink blanket that looked like this- either it is packed up some where or it got left at somebody's house in between here and utah- oh well the blue will have to do-that is what the bow is for

this is how my morning was going

to merry -Why are you spitting milk in your brothers hair?
Why did you put towels in the sink and turn the water on?
to Jacob- Why are walking with a bowl on your foot?
Why did you lock merry in the bathroom?

Thank goodness for quite time- aka group nap- and lots of diet coke- and when Brian comes home

green beans

My green beans
my favorite green bean salad- perfect for summer
It is from the Penzey spice catalog- but I use Mccormicks greek seasoning and it still is yummy

1 lb. fresh green beans
1 small red onion, peeled and minced
1 Cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
1/2 - 1 Cup crumbled feta cheese (to taste)
Dressing:

1 TB. GREEK SEASONING
1 TB. water
1/2 Cup olive oil
1/3 Cup red wine vinegar
1-2 tsp. sugar

Directions:
Bring a large (at least 4 quarts) pot of water to a boil. While the water is coming to a boil, mix the GREEK SEASONING and water in a roomy bowl. After 5 minutes, add the oil, vinegar, sugar, and onion. Mix well, set aside. Wash the beans, cut off the stem end, and chop into roughly 2 inch chunks. Place the beans in the rapidly boiling water. Young and tender beans will be done after 3 minutes, large beans can take 6-7 minutes. Taste if in doubt-just tender is what you want, not soft, not hard. Remove the beans and run under cold water until cool. This will stop the cooking and keep the beans green. Toss in the bowl with the dressing, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Add quartered tomatoes and half of the feta cheese, toss to combine. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top (it looks nice and white that way) and serve.

Born April 30 at 1:33pm
5lbs and 11.5 oz

She is so tiny, she looks like a doll. I am loving her hair. Jacob and Merry are so excited- Jacob told me she looked really small but if she ate her carrots maybe she would grow big like him.
