Adam plays baseball

Happy baseball season or unhappy baseball season.  I have been trying to get him to switch to soccer for a couple of years with no success.  So it is different field and cities for sports every night.  Adam played catcher for the 1st time last night.
I particularly like his skills at stopping the ball with his head.
This happy face is what makes all the running around worth it.
 Up to bat.
The coaches gave him the game ball for a nice hit down the 3rd base line.

Happy Birthday Adam

Happy 7th birthday to our crazy Adam.
He is a lover of all things Pokemon, super hero and minecraft.
He frequently quizzes me on which Pokemon is which.
He is very sweet and still comes in to tell me he loves me every night.
Baseball is still his favorite sport.
He loves reading and PE at school.
He also makes friends where ever he goes.
We love our sweet boy.

Fair and Odyssey all in 1 week

This week was the fair where the kids showed and sold their 4-H plants.
Adam grew a succulent wreath and some pineapples.
He also won 1st place for cloverbud greenhouse knowledge.
Grace showed some succulent collections.  One was a group of moss purses and the other a frame that had the word love crafted with succulents.
Grace won the Class champion for her purses and third place for display.
Merry showed 2 succulent collections, a turtle and a frame filled with succulents.  She also showed some flats of stonecrop.
Merry got 1st place for all her plants and made the most money.
She also was selected as one of the four 5th graders at her school to show artwork at the fair.
I forgot to take a picture of her plaster mask but picture a green pirate unicorn plaster mask with ruby red lips.
Jacob grew a succulent wreath, a succulent ferris wheel collection and trays of echeveria.
He won class champion for his echeveria trays, 2nd place for display and 3rd place for greenhouse knowledge.
Eliza had to sit through all of the sale and show.  Luckily there were plenty of rocks, dirt and sticks to play with at the plant show.
Jacob's odyssey of the mind team also competed this weekend.  Their robot sort of failed but they placed 1st for spontaneous and 2nd for style.  They did a Billy Mays Illuminati theme which scored lots of laughter from the judges.

Grace at soccer

Grace is playing soccer again this season.
I am glad she has the tongue concentration down.
You can see how wet the field was in the early morning from all the dew splashing up on her.

Getting ready for the game by making her braids into Princess Leia buns.
Some action on the field.
More action.
Half time huddle and cheer.
Her throw in skills.  Need to work on that.
Another busy day at the soccer field.

Happy birthday Merry

Happy 11th birthday to our sweet Merry.
It is hard to believe she is already this old.
She is a bookaholic and is constantly reading.
Her favorite color is turquoise and she loves to cook but not clean.
She is a great big sister and helps entertain her younger siblings.
Foxes are her favorite animal so this is my attempt at a fox cake.
What a glowy cake.
Blowing out the fire hazard.
Surprised by the presents, which included a lot of books.
Happy birthday may your 11th year be excellent.

Adam and Eliza

Eliza is quite appalled that I wanted to take pictures of her after church.
This is her I am so offended face.
Fortunately Adam was there to show her how to properly model.
Adam we don't model shirtless.
Eliza's attempt at being cooperative.
Thanks to a couple of youtube videos Eliza has given up sucking her finger.
The first was an Asian man who told her how gross it was and then yelled "Asian people will not like you if you suck your finger."  The second showed a close up of bacteria in petri dish and then a cartoon boy puking.  Eliza is sure that the bacteria are worms.  Laying in bed the other night she told Brian that she wished she had a faster car to get away from the worms so that she could suck her finger again.  Maybe the lack of finger sucking has led to this sassiness.

Happy 2017

Happy New Year's Eve.
We spent the day in Lakeland visiting Grandma Stott and David and family.
We went to lunch and then a fun center and played arcade games until we won a Gator's basketball that only cost us like $40 dollars.
Then we can home and spent the evening at home playing Risk.
A picture of the revelry.
Poor bottom of the human tower.
We then went outside and lit Chinese lanterns and watched our neighbors fireworks.
Until we almost caught our neighbor's tree on fire.
Happy New Year.
