A summary of Merry in 2nd grade

A view of Merry's 2nd grade year.
Merry and her teacher, Mrs. Kendrick.
Mrs. Kendrick is an awesome teacher, they did lots of fun projects.  Some of Merry's favorite projects were chocolate chip dig to learn about the tedious work of fossil digging and planting avocado seeds.
Here is a list about Merry's year.
I am best at reading.  I read over one million words this year.
I want to be good at multiplication next year.
I took a field trip to see a play called "The Monster Who Ate My Peas."
I am most proud of my reading achievement.
My favorite sports is swimming and acrobats.
My favorite books are the A to Z mystery series.
My favorite website is webkinz.
I want to learn more about plants.
My favorite food is cupcakes.
The saddest thing that happened this year was that Amory was not in my class.
My best friends are Amory, Emma, Faith and Madison.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from this year.
A self portrait doing a hand stand under a rainbow.
Another self portrait.
Water paint flowers.
A Merry Picasso.
Yet another self portrait.  I think those are gladiator sandals.
Friends from school on the last day of school.
These girls had so much fun together.
More of the girls.
Her friend from Mrs. Kendricks class.
Merry had a great 2nd grade year!

Happy double digits

10 years old- sure makes a boy tired.
 Posing with his class treats.
Wow- that is a whole lot of candles.
I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow the candles out.
Books are the greatest gift.  This boy loves to read.

Dance Preview Part 2

Merry's outfit for Tutti Frutti.
The acro troop.
Her rad acro moves.

Dance Preview

The girls had their costume fitting for their dance recital that is in a couple of weeks.
The theme this year is Dec-a-dance.
Grace is dancing to "Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head."
What could be better than a purple sequin rain coat and rain hat?
An orange, turquoise and lime green rumba suit, I guess.  Grace kept telling me that Merry's costume is way better than hers.
Miss Sally organizing the dancers.
Merry is dancing to "Life is a Magic Thing."

Love the dancers in action picture.

Eliza @ almost 17 months, butternuts and crafty junk

Eliza is at the sort of into everything stage.  I set her on the porch with a pack of raisins.
She finished the raisins and then filled her little box with cat food and started to eat the little fish until I caught her.
 Merry loves to garden.
Last fall she grew a butternut squash from some seeds from a plant from the grocery store.
After pruning it all winter and pollenating the flowers herself, she has a bumper crop of butternuts.
We will not be low on vitamin A.
How could you not help but kick the squash.
Butternuts roll, how cool is that.
I opened my crafting sweat shop over the weekend.
Jacob made an American flag out of some sticks he found of the yard.
The other kids were put to work painting soda can stars.
We rewarded the hard work with some waffles.
And finally a picture of Eliza in action.
She inherited the family allergy/asthma gene so her nose is constantly snotty.

Random May

Grace received a green slide for her birthday,
so we had to build a deck for it to go on.
Merry is testing the work in progress.
I can't help but feel we are under utilizing this awesome tree.
Eliza and Adam waiting to use the awesome slide.
Adam showing off his toothless grin.
Merry reading the funnies in bed.
Why is it so fun to sneak up and take pictures of my kids?

Jacob was too fast and I could not sneak a picture of him.
Don't look now Jacob but there is something behind you.
Good plan, offer gummy bears as a token of peace.

Happy birthday Grace

It is hard to believe that Grace is already six.
I love her sweet dimples.
She still loves owls so she had an owl birthday cake.
Good job Grace, way to blow out the candles.
Opening her presents with some help from Merry.
She is such a sweet girl.
I heard her making wishes on dandelion fluff the other night.
Her wish, "I wish everything was beautiful."
So do I.
She collected a bouquet of wildflowers for me.
I love my sweet Grace.
