More purple because it is fun

Last night there was a big thunderstorm so I wrapped her head up in a scarf so that she would not be so scared. Then she would not let me take the scarf off so she ended up wearing it for several hours.
Not Harold and the Purple Crayon, but a close second.

Lots of purple

So in preparation for a photo challenge of purple, I snapped a few pictures of purple things we have.
Luckily our Vitex is blooming again.
Grace with her bouquet.

Grace before she dropped the jar and spilled water over her pink dress. Luckily she was wearing two dresses today.

I gave Merry a purple ribbon belt and she came outside with a sword in it ready for her picture to be taken. She then used the sword to try and prune some bushes.

The color purple makes me think of:
1. The book "The Color Purple" which I have not read in a long time but remember thinking it was sort of strange so maybe I will never reread it.
2. The book "Harold and the Purple Crayon" which made me want to take a picture of Merry coloring with a purple crayon.
3. The poem "I never saw a Purple Cow." We are in possession of a purple cow, maybe tomorrow I will take a picture of it.
Since Jacob didn't want to wear purple, color with purple or hold purple flowers he dug in our garden and found a purple eggplant.

Side notes:
1. Purple used to be on the lower half of my color choices, this assignment improved its standing slightly.
2. I love the t-shirt dresses that Merry and Grace are wearing. They look cute lots of different ways and they pass Merry's comfy clothes test and my ultra cheap clothes test.
3. The purple pictures had to include a face. That is why my kids showed up a lot.

Why I think my life is great

This white princess is always finding herself in trouble. Luckily today a pirate with a key chain attachment on his head was there to save the day. Good thing, because that dang sheriff was laying down on the job and tan Luke had his light saber glued to his hand with a plastic welder.

Orange Luke was a couple of stairs down just in case the pirate didn't get the job done.
(Orange Luke lost one of his hands in a tragic dryer accident- he has currently been released from rescuing duty until a new bionic hand can be found).

Just in case you wanted to know, the white princess is the most popular toy in our house this summer. Not to be confused with the pink princess who is styling a pink bodice with a white skirt and a long braid. She totally gets snubbed.

Adam at 4 Months

Adam has had an exciting 4th month.

He got to try cereal for the first time.

After me trying to feed him a couple of spoonfuls he was ready to try. Notice the large amounts of cereal on his double chin.

He also got his first haircut to remove his balding mullet style.

I said trim mom I am too young to recruit.
Don't quit your day job, Mom!

P.S. I remember doing this to Jacob's hair too, I should not be allowed near clippers.

4th of July- Kansas style

Over the long weekend we went to Wichita, Kansas to visit uncle Dan. We visited the Exploration Center and the Keeper of the Plains monument and watched a ton of fireworks. Apparently Kansanites or Kansonians or whatever you call them love to blow up stuff. Fireworks were going off all over the place the whole weekend.

Grace, Jacob and Merry jumping for joy outside the Exploration Center. They had an exhibit called Grossology that described bodily functions. It was pretty cool until Dan wanted me to identify some smells. I think my olfactory nerves are permanently damaged.

Dan showed my kids how to properly light fireworks with a blow torch.

Uncle Dan and the kiddios.

Just outside of Ok. City Jacob was munching on some crackers and his other front tooth fell out.
We could have been nice parents and stopped but instead I tossed him a few wet wipes and a water bottle.

One more jumping picture just for fun.
