What to do with spilt glue

Say you accidently leave the lid off of a bottle of school glue and it spills all over in the bottom of your craft box, what do you do? Well I say make home made silly putty. It is pretty dang awesome.
It stretches, and strings and even makes bubbles if you put it at the end of a straw.
Merry thinks the bubbles are the best.

Well I'll be, that is awesome.
Jacob is sporting the Billy-Bob look this week with one missing front tooth.

User's caution: Do not put this in your ear and tell your kids that your brain is falling out because your 4 year old daughter will copy you and get glue silly putty all in her hair.

Merry's dance recital

Merry participated in her first dance recital over the weekend. She had a great time dancing to Flora's Secret. She did fancy moves like discovery, fairy dust and sunlight.

Merry with her dancing buddies.

Sitting through a couple of hours of dance performances made me think of the last time that I was in recital. Flash back to sixth grade, I was still in that teeth to big for my head stage. One of my Young Women's leaders taught dance in a friend's garage. Our group decided that we would participate in the middle school talent show.

Outfits- black home-made unit pants (pictured below), purple and black t-shirts layered with the sleeves rolled up, puffy purple socks pulled over the pants and sparkly, metallic purple headbands and wrist bands.

Our song selection- Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson.

Six awkward 11-12 year old dancing our hearts out.

Too bad I was born with a congenital defect. I have no rhythm. And I wondered why we didn't place in the talent show. Fortunately my dancing career ended then.

If only I had a picture to share with you. Oh well I guess somethings are better left to the imagination.

In searching for a picture of unit pants I found that you can still purchase unit fashion online. Awesome!!!! I think this jumpsuit is definitely going on my wish list.

Sum-sum-summertime

Well we are 2 weeks into summer break and I think I need to take rest from all the summertime fun.  We have packed a Missions game, the Witte Museum, a couple of play dates, Port Aransas, the Stonewall peach jamboree, and lots of playing all into a couple of weeks.   It is time for a couple of catch up days around the house. Berry and peach season are in full swing so restocking our jams and canned peaches is top priority in the next couple of weeks.  My little garden plot is starting to produce.  We have had a couple of bowls full of tomatoes, a couple of bell peppers, lots of basil (good thing I love pesto), some storing squash, and an eggplant.  I think the yellow cherries will be the most productive this year.
The picture is at the Pioneer Memorial Garden in Fredericksburg.  Jacob and Merry were telling each other knock-knock jokes.
